Garlic Varieties

Garlic ‘Printanor’ (Allium sativum Silverskin Group).
Garlic ‘Printanor’ is French in origin and is a medium sized bulb with a teardrop-shape and white skin. It has a strong flavour and is very pungent. The cloves are large with a pink to tan colour. Suitable for warm climates with mild winters as far north as Coffs Harbour, on the mid north coast of NSW. It is very long keeping, up to a year after harvest and is a good braiding type. Renowned as being the Chef’s favourite.
Garlic ‘Red Creole‘ (Allium sativum Creole Group)
Garlic Creole ‘Rojo de Castro’ syn. ‘Red Rocambole’ is a hardneck or top-setting garlic variety which usually produces a flower stem in early summer. Worth buying just for cooking, this organic garlic is a powerhouse of flavour, definitely one for the gourmet. The silvery white bulbs are smaller than some types but the cloves are a good size with a beautiful and distinctive crimson skin.
Garlic D&S Cream
A great performing variety that has large cream heads that are bursting with hot, yet earthy flavour. A softneck that stores well late into the season.
Garlic Spanish Roja
Good hot spicey flavour. Stores up to 12 months. Southern NSW to Tasmania, all of SA and Southern WA.
